Keiki Island Edventures — Snorkel, Explore & Fish!

A hands-on kids' adventure in Jupiter for ages 7-13 with snorkeling, marine life exploration, fishing, sandbars, and mangrove trails

Keiki Island Edventures gives children ages 7–13 a summer experience that combines hands-on marine education with unforgettable adventures on the water. Ohana Cruises invites young explorers to join Captain Ricardo for a summer camp-style program in Jupiter, FL, where kids can learn about local marine life, mangrove ecosystems, fishing, and coastal habitats through real-world exploration.

Each weekday begins at 9 a.m. aboard our boat as campers head out to explore Jupiter’s waterways. Adventures may include visiting shallow snorkeling spots, sandy sandbars, and mangrove trails where kids can experience South Florida’s coastal environment up close.

Children can snorkel among colorful fish, search for starfish and other marine life, explore how mangroves provide important habitat for coastal wildlife, and learn fun ocean facts from Captain Ricardo along the way. The program encourages curiosity and gives kids ages 7–13 the opportunity to learn about marine ecosystems while spending time outdoors and in the water.

Fishing is also included as a relaxed introduction to the sport, with rods, bait, and tackle provided. Campers can learn basic fishing skills while practicing patience, water safety, and respect for the wildlife and environments they encounter.

This is learning without a classroom because some of the best lessons come with salty hair, sandy toes, and a snorkel mask. Keiki Island Edventures gives kids the chance to make new friends, build confidence in the water, discover Jupiter’s marine environment, and create unforgettable summer memories.

Keiki Island Edventures is offered from May through September for children ages 7–13. The program is $425 per week or $125 for a single-day drop-in. Ohana Cruises is also a Step Up For Students direct pay provider, helping eligible families use available scholarship funds toward our Edventure programs.

Snorkeling, Marine Life & Island ExplorationWhat to Bring for a Full Day of Adventure

Keiki Island Edventures is all about getting kids out on the water to snorkel, explore, fish, and discover the marine life found around Jupiter. To make the most of the day, each young explorer should come prepared with a few essentials.

Kids should bring:

• A mask and snorkel
• Sunscreen (please no spray sunscreens)
• A towel
• A change of clothes
• A packed lunch and snacks to fuel a full day of fun



All fishing and exploration equipment is provided, including rods, bait, tackle, buckets, dip nets, and cast nets, so families don't need to bring any additional gear.

Throughout the day, kids will visit shallow tropical snorkeling spots, sandy sandbars, and mangrove areas where there's always something new to discover. They can snorkel alongside colorful fish, look for starfish, watch for stingrays, and get a closer look at the small creatures that call Jupiter's waterways home.

Captain Ricardo keeps the experience fun and hands-on, sharing ocean facts and pointing out interesting marine life as the group explores. It's a chance for kids to learn about the water around them while swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and having fun outside.

Optional: Cast Net Training

Curious kids can add cast net training to their adventure! Captain Ricardo teaches the basics of throwing technique using kid-friendly 6-foot nets that are easy for young learners to handle. It's a great skill-building add-on for kids who love fishing and hands-on learning.
