Make Fridays an adventure on the water with Fun Fridays from Ohana Cruises. Led by Captain Ricardo, this hands-on program gives young explorers ages 7-13 the opportunity to snorkel, discover marine life, try fishing, and explore the waterways around Jupiter.
Fun Fridays are offered year-round every Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $125 per student. Ohana Cruises is a Step Up For Students direct pay provider, allowing eligible families to use available scholarship funds toward Fun Fridays and our Edventure programs.
Kids head out on the boat to explore shallow snorkeling spots, sandy sandbars, and mangrove areas while getting an up-close look at the marine life that calls Jupiter's waterways home.
Throughout the morning, kids can snorkel alongside colorful fish, search for starfish, watch for stingrays, explore the shoreline, and discover small marine creatures. Captain Ricardo points out interesting wildlife and shares ocean facts along the way, combining outdoor fun with hands-on learning.
Fishing is also part of the adventure, and families don't need to bring their own fishing equipment. Rods, bait, and tackle are provided, giving kids an opportunity to learn the basics and try fishing while still leaving plenty of time for snorkeling and exploring.
Fun Fridays are designed for kids ages 7-13 who love being outside, getting in the water, and discovering something new. What to Bring for a Fun Friday on the Water
Fun Fridays are all about giving kids a few hours to snorkel, explore, fish, and experience Jupiter's marine environment firsthand. Each student should arrive ready to spend the morning outside and on the water.
Kids should bring:
- A mask and snorkel
- Sunscreen (please no spray sunscreens)
- A towel
- A change of clothes
- A packed lunch and snacks
We’ll take care of the rest! Ohana Cruises provides rods, bait, and tackle for fishing, along with buckets, dip nets, and cast nets for hands-on marine life exploration.
During each Fun Friday, the group can visit shallow snorkeling areas, sandbars, and mangrove-lined waterways. Kids may spot tropical fish, starfish, stingrays, crabs, and other marine life while learning more about the environment they're exploring.
Captain Ricardo keeps the experience active and hands-on, encouraging kids to observe what's around them, ask questions, and learn while they're swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and exploring.
Optional: Cast Net Training
Kids interested in learning another fishing skill can try cast net training with Captain Ricardo. Using kid-friendly 6-foot nets, they'll learn the basics of throwing technique and get hands-on practice during their time on the water.
